About Us

The museum is situated in a Grade II Georgian merchant's house. It explores the story of Admiral Lord Nelson from his Norfolk childhood through his famous battles to his tragic heroic death. Personal items, paintings, documents, ceramics, sketches, memorabilia and hands-on interactives put Nelson's life into context, accompanied by displays about life below decks.

Admission Costs

Adults £3.50, concessions £2.95 (OAPs, students), children £2.00 (age 3-16), family £9.50 (2 Adults and up to 4 children), contact the museum for information on group rates.

Opening Hours

February to November, Monday to Friday 10am to 4pm, Saturday and Sunday 1pm to 4pm.

Closed December and January.

Main galleries are fully accessible, ramped entrance, lift and accessible toilet.

How to Find Us

Great Yarmouth is easily accessible by bus or train and the museum is a short walk from either station. The museum is located on South Quay in Great Yarmouth between Yarmouth Way and Nottingham Way, just opposite the River Yare.
